This exclusive Swedish House Mafia interview was conducted by The Future Tense as part of the ON/OFF project.
Each artist was asked the same series of questions relating to the live music experience, before being photographed just before and again immediately after performing.
Band: Swedish House Mafia
Venue: Alexandra Palace, London
Date: May 29th 2011
What is your most memorable live moment as a fan?
We’re actually big indie rock fans – Coldplay, Kings of Leon – the rock and roll vibe inspires us a lot.
What is your most memorable live moment as a performer?
Every show is special. There is always one moment in every show that sticks in the mind. We’ve had a lot of big moments – it’s hard not to get goosebumps when you drop the last track in a set to 20,000 people.
Have you had any disasters on stage?
Every night, all the time. It’s always mad. I’ve nearly broken my feet jumping off stage! Thankfully we’ve had very few kit failures or really bad shows.
Do you have any live performance aspirations?
Just to go bigger and better, and always work hard.
Any pre/post performance rituals?
Yeah we come together and say ‘pour tous’ which means come together in French, then we kiss each other and go on.
