Artist: Paul Weller

Interviewee: Paul Weller

Venue: Newcastle Metroradio Arena

Date: February 4th 2011

What is your most memorable live moment as a fan?

Seeing Dr Feelgood at Guildford Civic Hall in 1976. Just the rawness and energy of the music and performance.

What is your most memorable live moment as a performer?

Probably the last gig I played at Newcastle Arena. The last ones are nearly always my favourite. I was very conscious of 5500 people really fucking having it. That sense of communion.

Have you had any disasters on stage?

Being blind drunk at Glastonbury 1985, falling over and not being able to get up, and not caring!

Do you have any live performance aspirations?

To inspire myself and other people to greater thought and feelings.

Any pre/post performance rituals?

Smoke too much and pace the room and to always carry my pass in my right pocket.
