Born in Reykjavik, Iceland, urban iconoclast Katrin Fridriks has lived in Luxembourg, Germany and the US and currently works from her studio in Paris, producing large-scale works for an eclectic International roster of collectors and curators.

Through her hyperkinetic abstract paintings, Fridriks fuses the natural energies of her native Iceland – fire, water, earth and air – with contemporary pop art, graffiti and calligraphic references to create a unique visual universe.

Versatile and highly inquisitive by nature, Fridriks effortlessly blends fine art painting with conceptual installations, having previously received grant support from the Minister for Culture in Luxembourg as well as a high-profile commission from the French Government to create an 80m² fresco for the Olympic Stadium of Nîmes in 2007.

She also presented at the Biennial of Liverpool in 2008 and Venice Biennale in 2015 and has undertaken a number of handpicked commercial commissions for premium global brands such as Ralph Lauren, and for Land Rover’s 60th anniversary.
